The
"School Readiness" series has been developed
for both parents and their children. The sessions give parents
information about what they can do to help their children
develop learning readiness skills, and ultimately succeed
in school. Ideally, the sessions are held in a school, with
Early Learning and Care provided.
Family Math - This community
program supports parents in helping their children experience
success in math. Involvement in this program provides parents
with the confidence to better help their children enjoy early
numeracy. The program runs for six weekly two hour sessions.

School's
Cool - This program introduces children to a rich
variety of new and exciting experiences, building on their
social, language, reasoning and self-help skills. It is designed
to assist parents in understanding and enhancing their child's
learning experiences in the home, school and community. Also
provided in French.
Getting
Ready For K - Playing is how children learn. Parents
and children will talk about simple and fun games and activities
that can be done at home using things parents have around
the house. The skills children learn through play will be
built upon during kindergarten.
Success
in K - Parents and children share ideas and information
about communicating at home and at school through fun activities.
